What is LeRoc

LeRoc is Modern Jive. Modern Jive is a partner dance which is a combination of many well-known dance styles such as jive, salsa, tango, West Coast Swing and ballroom. It is fun and easy to learn, keeping you fit. It is a very social dance with dancers constantly changing partners throughout the lessons on a rotational basis and also during freestyle where you can put into practice what you have learnt, the ladies are encouraged to ask the men to dance as well as the men asking the ladies, so there is no need to bring a partner. There will also be crew members, as well as John & Wendy (teachers) on hand to dance with and make you welcome. Modern jive is becoming increasingly popular as it is easy to learn with no complicated foot work. Beginners can be dancing after only a few short weeks. It’s a great way to keep fit. No need to book, just turn up and enjoy the fun and friendly atmosphere.

The Music

Modern jive is danced to many different styles of music from the latest chart hits to Latin, Swing, Motown, R & B and Blues. We are lucky enough to have our own resident DJ “Dishy Dorian”, who is becoming increasingly popular. He plays a good mix of music and is more than happy to take requests to keep everyone happy.
